"I'm not sure how many of you are gonna like me after this one."
Good evening, family. Yes, I know I've neglected you for a few days and I know you've probably missed me, however the CIA DID NOT come to my house and drag me away (contrary to popular belief..lol)Thanks to @youngmclayton , @traceyreneejones, among others, I decided to come back and deliver this message (brace yourselves)...." Please stop embracing foolishness..." I mean, seriously....R.Kelly's newest album comes out and everybody treats this "pedophile" *Yea, I said it* like Ricky from "Boyz N the Hood" and just wanna "give him his ball back" (R. Kelly is talented, but he's a self admitted illiterate and the man's a GD pedophile) R. Kelly's songs no longer have the same connotation or meaning to me....and I was an R. Kelly fan(right up until he pissed on that lil girl)....damn you, R., damn you!! What's the hell is up with RnB singers? First, Chris Brown (and his bowtie) gets probation, Pleasure P is (allegedly) molesting young kids and R. Kelly is back to "rule the RnB world!" as the illiterate king of sexually charged miscreants, who "invent sex" and are "showstoppers"!
It's hard making sense of all of this nonsense, but i'm going to try. Americans (particularly my people) love to sensationalize BullShyt and are always quick to blame the victim. R. Kelly is a grown azz man! Are you honestly going to sit there and tell me that it was the young girl's fault for standing too close to R. Kelly? If this is your defense for R. Kelly, you need to be slapped with a big azz 2X4! You should've known something was wrong with Robert Kelly when he married a then 15 yr. old Aaliyah! (crazy) but nobody bats a damn eyelash....(Aaron McGruder was right, he's just a rnb singer...) R. Kelly aint shyt! I can't speculate on Pleasure P, but I just saw the pic and the unsealed court documents and all I can say is "if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck, its a damn duck." Making sense out of nonsense is making my head hurt. Why do we continually defend our "fallen heroes" ? is it because of the thought that we have a innate fear of the police/justice system? is it because we are finally trying to "rally around our brothers and sisters"? I beg to differ. I think that "we" are slowly "bleeding out" and not seeing the "forest for the trees". The "village" must again begin raising our own...the children are our future, the Shaniya Davis', the Derrion Alberts, among countless others who have had to die because of our self inflicted ignorance. Let's wake up!
Please don't misunderstand what I am saying. Everyone deserves a second chance, but not at the expense of our YOUTH! Pedophiles, child molestation, sex slavery are appalling! We can not and should not condone this nonsense regardless of who is the perpetrator!! So, just understand our children's health, safety, and well being are more important that album sales, record label contract, or Bentley. That is all.

The Night(mare) before Revolution.....
Good morning. I promise I'm not going to keep you long. We are living in a nightmare! I mean, what is it going to take for people to get the point? Do more 5 year olds have to die? Do more brothers have to be gunned down while reaching for their wallets? I'm of the opinion that a self promoting, delusional former Governor from Alaska is more important than that poor little girl (RIP Shaniya).....I know that this happened in NC, but I have yet to hear about this story in NY...I had to go to the most reliable news source I know...Twitter! I've heard every explanation and I still cannot fathom how a "mother" could allow herself to have the audacity to offer up her child to be a "sex slave" ( the 3 individuals should all be thrown into the deepest hole in the world)
When will we be more outraged? While some have shown a great amount of outrage, others have yet to become outraged enough!! We have lost so much of our future ( the Derrion Alberts, the Shaniya Davis' of the world), we can't let this continue!! We have to get back to where the "village" raised the children and we showed honest care and concern for those in our community! That would be the "Christian" thing to do now wouldn't it? When are we going to march against the senseless violence and stupidity that is slowly destroying not only our people, but our children? (and not just when the cameras are on, Jesse/Oprah/Al!) This nightmare has to end at some point. I for one am tired of waking up with thoughts of what the world will look like unless we start to fight for ourselves and our future generations!! Where are all the real "revolutionaries"? Who is willing to stand alone with a million people telling you to sit down? Who is willing to say the thing that everyone is thinking and be unafraid to say it? Let's get our communities back, so that we don't have any more Shaniya's, Derrion's, or other nameless children having to die in order for us to pay attention!!

"So Disrespectful"....The Monkey Chronicles Book 1, Verse 4
Good morning, family! I hope that you are all enjoying yourself and doing something positive. Ok,now that I've got that out of the way....Welcome to the fourth installment of the "Monkey Chronicles"! I'm not going to have a monkey of the week. for this week only, I'll call it "dumb stuff" I saw on TV . I say "dumb stuff" because I have been trying not to curse....So, I'm watching the internet (as I normally do during the week) and I can across Rihanna's interview on 20/20, Oprah not allowing Chris Brown on her show, and the "geniuses" on HLN (that's Headline News) stating that Chris Brown's style of dress and labeled him a punk!( judge not, HLN!)I understand why the media has done this : "they don't like black men" (watch Bowling for Columbine) Chris Brown hitting Rihanna was WRONG! but I believe there are 2 sides to a story....when are we going to get to hear Chris' side? ( Hmmmm....dont hold your breathe) Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying what Chris did...I just would like to know the "whole truth" about what happened in that car. ( men lie, women lie, numbers don't! thanks Jay-Z) I believe that we had 2 victims in that car and one is still being crucified in the "court of public opinion"!
"So disrespectful" -- I'm honestly of the opinion that Americans are stupid. I love this country and the people in it, but if I hear another homosexual person relate their struggle to that of African Americans, I'm going to stick my head in a fan! I love everybody, but please, not being able to be get married pales in comparison to being told you are "3/5 of a man", being separated from your family, being killed for trying to be free, is not even in the same book....I respect your decision to be who you are and love who you want to love, but STOP with the comparisons!!!

The Monkey Chronicles: Book 1 , Verse 3 : "The Curious Case of Aubrey Graham"
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and positive week. I wanted to speak to you all about the "State of Hip Hop". I grew up when hip hop was seen as an "artform", meaning in my honest opinion ,it was about the lyrics. Now, hip hop has become whatever makes whom the most money. Hip hop decided along time ago that it was "All About The Benjamins"! "Hip hop" (and I use that term loosely) has also decided that "gangster mentality" and "hoochie-ism" will rule the day! I personally think that this "self destructive behavior" MUST END!! With that said, I would like to introduce you to this week's "monkey"....."Ignorant hip hop". "Ignorant hip hop" is running rampant. I mean with the likes of Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, OJ the Juiceman, among others have taken hip hop back to the stone age! I could care less about Lil Wayne being called the "best rapper alive" (that title is passed around more than a prostitute on 42nd street). This "ignorant hip hop" has continued to distort and pervert the images that our children see on the TV everyday! Hip hop is now "mainstream" and for that I applaud where "she" has gone, but while hip hop has "grown up", instead of going to get its Juris Doctorate, "she" has decided to go back to "stripping" at the club to get that fast money!! We are all to blame...We support this "tomfoolery" and will make up any excuse in the book just because we don't want to face FACTS!!! Stop promoting the foolishness and let's start paying attention to the real damn issues! (i.e. the health care debate, better education for minority students, the high amount of African Americans in Special Ed., saving "our" HBCU's, fighting against the negative imagery in the media, and promoting the rebuilding of the black family structure) Moving forward, I'm done hearing about Drake. Maybe now that his "mentor" is going to jail( tried to play the part just a little too hard) we will finally see what "hip hop's hottest star" is going to do. I suggest he first learn how to walk! I definitely need to listen to more Public Enemy. I've been asking this question and have yet to receive an honest answer..."When are we going to start fighting again?" I'm really going to need the hip hop community to STAND UP for itself! I know that the hip hop community mobilized for the subsequent campaign and election of Pres. Obama, but as I've said before "the struggle is not over"! I can no longer tolerate this behavior from something I used to love with ALL my heart and soul! To quote Robin Harris, " I grew up on it!" Support is one thing. Denial is not just a river in Egypt. WAKE UP!!! Let's have more respect for ourselves and this culture than to turn it into the "bastard" of the musical family! Hip hop shouldn't be a running joke, nor a punchline, nor an audition for "So You Think You Can Dance?" (yea, I'm talking about you SouljaBoy) "Peace Be Unto You" Good evening

"Kill The Body, the Head will follow"
Good evening, family. I hope you are all doing something positive with your weekend. For the past week, I have been engaged in some of the most engaging conversations with highly intelligent and highly motivated individuals that I have ever come across. (shout to my brothers @iluvblackwomen and @GoodFathersOnly and everyone that listened to "DaddyTalk" this past Wednesday). I'm of the perception that black people DON'T WANT to change. The question I keep asking myself is ,"Why not?" Is it because we have been so inundated with negative imagery that its all we know? Is it that we have just accepted our circumstances and decided that's all we will ever be? or are we just TIRED? We are all to blame. (Yes, I said it) You see, there was a time in black history that we believed in the family. What happened? No longer do we sit down to dinner with our entire family and have conversations about your day, what's going on in school and what you were doing this weekend as a family (besides sitting in front of the TV watching football on Saturdays or Sundays.) If it's good enough for the President of the United States, it should be good enough for you as well. I know some of you are saying,"Well, I work and I can't afford to sit down with my kids and eat every night. I'm a single parent, I've got to work" I completely understand that and I say try to at least organize and prioritize at least two days a week for your children to have a dinner, a night without TV, or sit down to talk. Trust me, it helps foster positivity in your kids and shows them that you actually care about their academic pursuits (other than when report cards come out).
We must begin to start moving forward. We have lost ourselves, we need to continue asking and answering the tough questions!(besides when is Drake's album coming out?) We all have a responsibility, not only to each other but to future generations as well. Be MORE. Stop settling. We were not put on planet to be "passive observers", We were placed here to affect change!! The election of Barack Hussein Obama was ONLY STEP 1! We have got A LOT MORE work to do STILL! like I've said in previous posts....It wasn't over when Pres. Obama took the Oath of Office, "The battle for legitimacy" continues every time Glenn Beck, Michelle Malkin, and the rest of the "so-called Fair and Balanced" media over at Fox News ,speak half truths in an effort to "muddy the waters" and confuse the heck out of people with their opinions and stupidity! People of Color, stop taking what they give you as the "gospel truth" and start reading, talking to your children, and start making an effort to be better than you were the day previous. "Don't be like a lamb led to slaughter. Be like Hannibal, crossing the Alps" and attack your dreams and goals with the same vigor that you will look for the next Gucci Mane album, or rocking that "Free Lil Wayne" tshirt. The time to stand up is NOW! A salam alaikum. People of color, "GROW A SPINE!"

"You are what you eat, Ignorance is a food source."
Evening, friends. I have sat on my blog and consistently spoke about the things that black people as a whole must do in order to not only survive but to thrive!! I'm of the opinion that black people are happy "eating" this crap that the media has fed to us. Black people have gotten sooo bad that we have started "coming up with our own recipes" in order to remain stuck in the situation(s) that we/ and others have placed ourselves in. "When will black people start fighting again and stop settling?", I asked this question a few weeks ago and have yet to receive an answer..."Where are we going, black people?" I would love for black people to start approaching the front lines of this battle instead of leaving it in the hands of a few "leaders" that will get us to the "promised land"! We've got to do better (myself included) I think that it is insane that we are sitting in the kitchen eating the "scraps that massa left" instead of becoming a "vegan" and doing something different. No, that doesn't mean stop eating meat tomorrow, it means that if you continually "digest" all the wrong things ,for example, too much bad TV/radio (FOX News, or anything that Rush Limbaugh says or stands next too), are consistently promoting the 'minstrelsy" that is destroying our youth, and are not doing anything to further your people, then you need to change your thinking!! "Ignorance is a food source."
I have learned that sometimes people need a little "push", well how about falling off a cliff? LOL We need less SouljaBoy and more Black Panthers....We have to start fighting for our communities and our future generations....Black men, I implore you to get back to your families, raise your SONS/Daughters, Black women, be the Queens that I know you are, you are the "queens of this universe", let's start acting like it. The examples that you give are the ones that YOUR children will follow in the future. even if you don't think they will..... The death(s) of so many young people has put inner city violence in the "spotlight", therefore making it imperative for us to become more pro-active in solidifying our communities and make it known that "it takes a village" to raise a children! Let's start doing something. Let's make sure that those young men and women didn't die in vain. I am no longer going to be someone's "dinner"/ "host". The beginnings of the Reclamation Project starts now!!!
Phase 1: We NEED to get ANGRY!
Phase 2: develop social programs. even if its even in your own home, give these kids something to do.
Phase 3: Give the parents the literature and support they need in order to "fend" off the call of the "streets".
Phase 4: Do something for free aka volunteer. It will help your spirit and show people that nobody is perfect and not everyone lives in an "ivory tower".
Phase 5: schedule a college visit. show these kids that they can go on to get a higher level of education, if they so choose.

Derrion Albert and "The Revolutionary Myth" : Sorry, Young Brother (RIP)
Good evening. I'm a little upset right now. I am really trying very hard to understand why no one is talking about Derrion Albert or the violence that has embedded itself in the fabric of all inner city schools? Since Derrion is no longer "newsworthy" according to NewsCorp ( or major media outlets),I have decided to do my part in keeping his spirit alive and letting you know my feelings. BTW: President Obama, where are you? I would have preferred you say something on this incident rather than messing with Gov. Patterson. I mean, this happened in your home state! For those of you stuck in a timewarp, Derrion Albert was a HS sophomore beat to death while walking to a bus stop in Chicago. I have said via Twitter that I think that this is due to a lack of social programs/ extracurricular activities available in these schools. Derrion Albert didn't deserve to die on a cold street while being beaten with no mercy, away from his mother and other loved ones. Derrion is just one of many young men/women who have been killed for illogical reasons. The problem that I am having is that the people who are supposed to be our leaders are only available when the red light of the camera is on and the mic is put in their face. We have got to do better! I for one am tired of watching "our" leaders, pandering and posing for the camera while they feign sentiment for this young person that was wiped out in the prime of their lives...i can't take this anymore....We NEED NEW LEADERSHIP...Step UP or Get Out of the Way!! ( the success of future generations depends on what we do TODAY!) I'm tired of our "leaders" living what I like to call the "revolutionary myth". "The Revolutionary Myth" is a syndrome that affects most leaders who actually come in with ideals and through the magic of TV, magazines, and endorsements, these "leaders" become psuedo-revolutionaries that will offer their opinions, faces, or even constituencies to the highest bidder or whomever offers them a spot on their next show! (to espouse their latest philosophy or half truth) Once again, we've got to do better.....I'm done ....Good evening
